Disney's Halloween Parties

One of my very favorite times of year to visit Disney parks is September/October for HALLOWEEN season! Disney does such a great job in all the details of the holidays - the decor, the characters in costume, the festive treats... and the parties!!

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween party, renamed as Oogie Boogie Bash, is such a fun event for people of all ages. This is a SEPARATELY TICKETED event. The park is open for regular business hours until 6 or 7 PM (times may change year to year). At this time, the party begins and guests without a Halloween party ticket have to leave. (Party guests are wearing wristbands and cast members check for these as you get on each ride.) Those who have tickets to the party are allowed to enter the park around 4:00 PM and can stay as late as midnight if they choose.

This is a COSTUME PARTY! As long as you are following the guidelines provided on the official Disney park sites, you are welcome to wear a costume. It's fun to see all of the creative group costumes people come up with, or simply to see little princesses wearing their full royal attire. My family went with the "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" theme and my mom did a fabulous job putting it together.

So... what makes the party so special?? My favorite thing about this event is that THERE ARE A LIMITED AMOUNT OF TICKETS SOLD. To simplify that for you - WAY LESS PEOPLE! We were so impressed with how short lines were. Seriously. This alone makes it worth booking your trip at the time of the party! There are no Disney Genie or Fast Passes during this event, but getting on the rides you want to ride is no problem at all.

Disney offers "treat trails" throughout the whole park where you can go trick or treating! Last year they had the trails themed with villains and it was a meet and greet type of experience. This is such a fun offering for your kids - and let's be honest... dads? No need to steal your kid's Halloween candy - adults can trick or treat here too with no judgement. ;)

Speaking of treats (how did I not get to this sooner???), seasonal parties have their very own food and snack offerings that you can't get anywhere else! Disney is so creative and comes up with amazing eats that are themed for the season.

The night is filled with special parades and shows that you can't see on a regular day in the parks even during the season unless you attend. Everything is villain or "spooky" themed, but everything is family friendly. No haunting, no people in the streets jumping out at you and trying to scare you and your kids. If you're into that... check out Universal's Halloween party!

2021 parties were "Oogie Boogie Bash" at California Adventure Park in Anaheim and "Disney After Hours Boo Bash" in Magic Kingdom Park in Orlando. 2022 will most likely be the same or similar. Once these tickets go on sale, they go QUICK!! Like I said, tickets are limited, which means lower crowds, which means you should do it. ;) Contact me if you are interested in attending this event and I will be sure to reach out to you as soon as tickets go on sale or more information is released about this year!

You'd better get planning your costumes!!!!
