Disney Cruise Line has a fun opportunity for you to dress up on one of the nights of your cruise! The event is called "Pirate Night" and their catch phrase is "Pirates IN the Caribbean"... get it? ;) I love this event. If you are worried about looking like a fool because you are wearing a silly costume.... I promise you won't! It is shocking how many people participate in dressing up for this. You don't have to buy anything too fancy for this event. Just find some torn fabric to tie around your waist, get some big gold hoops, a hat, a hook, and an eye patch and you will be ready to rock!
I decided to dress my baby up as a parrot instead of a pirate. She sure was cute! I got a piece of fabric and some feather boas, cut the boas into small pieces, and ran it through my sewing machine adding one boa after another. Then I alternated lines and went all the way up!
I think it turned out pretty cute!
You dress up before dinner, wear your pirate attire to the restaurant, and then head up to the top deck for a deck party. There are photo ops, characters in pirate gear, a show put on by said characters, and a dance party!

The night ends with a firework show off the deck. We heard that a fun fact about the fireworks is that they have fish food in them and don't leave any harmful products in the ocean. Pretty cool!

NOTE: If you are sailing on a themed sailing such as "Star Wars Day at Sea" or "Pixar Day at Sea", there is "technically" not a pirate night... meaning they don't advertise it. We were on a Star Wars sailing and expected pirate night to happen without really checking with anyone. When we got there they told us it wasn't happening, but we had already brought all our gear and we decided we would dress up the night of the firework show anyway. We go to dinner and what do you know... everyone else had brought their pirate costumes too! Looking around the restaurant it looked like you were the odd man out if you WEREN'T in costume! Not sure if they will bring it back and just give you two official costume days or not. All I know is I'm going to bring my pirate costume anyway because it's just too fun to dress up!
