Every Disney Cruise Line sailing includes one night where everyone is encouraged to dress fancy! Once you are onboard, check your Navigator App in order to see what night to plan on wearing your formal attire.
It's important to remember to pack for this night because you will feel left out when you get to dinner and you're the only one in your floral shirt. Haha. Note that some of the men in our group brought suits... not a requirement - a shirt, tie, and dress pants is fine too! My mom always brings her garment bag as a checked bag that we can hang fancy dresses and suits in. If you don't have one, I'd go with the shirt & tie because I personally don't think it's a good idea to fold up your suit.
After you've had a fun-filled day at port or at sea, you head back to your stateroom and get all ready to go. We typically select early/main dining and then go to the show after dinner. The other option is to see the show first and eat dinner later. This gives everyone the opportunity to see the shows in the theaters when there isn't enough space to accommodate everyone at the same time.
In my family's opinion, if we all got ready and look our best, we better have a photo taken to prove it ;) We plan to meet on deck 4 thirty minutes before dinner to get pictures before it's dark. We are all about good lighting. ;)
The staff in charge of photo pass do a great job with lighting if you don't have time to get one pre-dinner/show.
We also took a few photos in front of the Buena Vista Theater wall just inside of the wrap around deck because how stinking cute is it?!
Not only do you have a fancy dinner with your fancy outfit, the characters get dressed up too! It's so fun to see all the different costumes and outfits these cuties have throughout your trip.
Get shopping now for your fancy dress! Formal night is the best!
